Does Street Parking, Inc. charge sales tax?
Depending on your location and any applicable tax laws, Street Parking, Inc. may charge sales tax in addition to the membership or purchase price. The amount of tax varies by state and type of purchase. The final price of the order, including any fees or taxes, will be displayed at checkout. Below are some answers to common questions regarding sales tax.  

Why is Street Parking, Inc. required to charge sales tax?
Recently, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled in favor of the state in South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc. The decision overruled a longstanding physical presence rule, allowing states to require remote sellers to collect and remit sales tax.

Nexus laws in certain states were expanded to include a sales tax obligation based on a certain level of economic activity within the state, including sales revenue, transaction volume, or a combination of both.

What date will this take effect?
Street Parking, Inc. will begin collecting sales tax on January 1, 2022 for membership purchases. Affected states for apparel or digital downloads has occurred since Street Parking, Inc.’s inception.

In what countries do buyers pay taxes for purchases from Street Parking, Inc.?
This tax is currently applied only in certain states in the USA.

How are pre-paid memberships impacted by sales tax?
There will be no affect on purchased memberships for an extended period into 2022 that occurred in 2021.

What members are tax exempt?
Members who are exempt from paying sales tax can provide documentation to request tax exemption (which is dependent on the laws and regulations in each state individually).
