Miranda's IRL Challenge

This August, you're invited to take on Miranda's IRL Challenge Workout.

You pick when you do it.

You choose who you will do it with and which version you’ll do.

And, like real life, you’ll have to choose how you’ll keep going when it undoubtedly gets challenging.

Before we get to how it works, here’s a note from Miranda on WHY she created this workout the way she did as a personal challenge for the SP community.

From Miranda:

When we started Street Parking, which we thought would just be a little "side project" almost 10 years ago, Julian and I were about to learn a whole new stage of life - and a whole new set of challenges. We were still in the naive - "when X happens - then things will calm down" stage. Ten years, three kids, a business, and many battles later - I have graduated to the "life is always hard - but each hard is a little different than the last" phase. (Maybe this is just your 40s).

This workout is a challenge that mimics - or maybe is a celebration of - the beauty that is REAL LIFE. As you move through, there are parts that you love and parts that you hate, periods of struggle that feel like they will never end, obstacles that seem impossible to overcome, and sweet relief when they do. But always - you must keep moving.

If any of us were to be able to see all of the twists and turns that our lives were going to take before they happened, we would quickly become overwhelmed - and potentially afraid to dive in. This workout invites you to do just that. This workout is not about your score - but about your willingness to look at something that may seem daunting - and just start by putting one foot in front of the other.

No one "wins" life - but we do have the choice for how we approach it, and how much effort, heart, and joy we put into it. We choose whether we allow the inevitable difficulty of it all paralyze us or empower us to learn to overcome anything that might come our way.

A few practical things to know:

  • This workout isn't programmed as a Daily Workout, which makes it the kind of thing that's easy to avoid. It's longer than a typical Daily Workout and it asks a lot of you. Make the time anyway. Simple, not easy, right?
  • The workout (and the badge to earn) is available to complete anytime between August 1-31. Solo, SHIFT, and Team versions are available.
  • Take this one on with someone else if you can. Even if it’s over FaceTime or zoom. Even if it makes you a little nervous. (Especially if it makes you a little nervous.) It’s not required, just encouraged.

Ready?
